Welcome to Blue Monday, The Saddest, Gloomiest Day of the Year

If you're one of the millions who's not having their best day, then now you know why. Unfortunately the stock market has caught SAD too.

But don't despair, the days are getting longer by exactly two minutes each day. So the sun rises a minute earlier and also sets a minute later. That's 60 extra minutes of daylight a month.

Thank heavens for small blessings!

With no unpaid Christmas bills and no failed New Year's resolutions at this point, I can honestly say that I am having a great day. The weather is a bit gloomy, but winter is a season of letting go and renewal. I kind of like the starkness as part of the whole cycle of life.

My kind of woman...I like it.

I'm certainly blessed that you're my first born.

Love you.

Blue Monday? Wow... people are so negative... and I normally am too, but with a good job, a great fiance and putting an offer on a new house today, I'm in a great mood!

Still waiting for your explanation into why you stated that Barack put on a Klan outfit...

Or was that just a hit and run?

I wish I could come up with another, deeper and more sinister explanation for picking this up off of Google images, but I simply can't, and therefore I won't. I thought it was hilarious--and still do---and presented it as such. This explanation won't satisfy you, but it is the only and last one I have and will ever give.

I reserve the right to think whatever I think is funny is funny.

If this blog is too politically incorrect for you, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, to save yourself some heartache.

You see, more than I worry about your feelings, I worry much, much more about the erosion of our First Amendment freedoms on the slippery slope of political correctness.

My freedom manifests in saying what I want and accepting the consequences, and yours manifests in your right to walk away from anything you find offensive. You can also walk away with your pocketbook and your delete button.

My responsibility is not to your feelings, but rather to being true to myself. Within all that, I am not perfect and don't always make the best judgment call, but in all that I take responsibility.

And let me say again. I think if you were/are offended, then you need to find other blogs to frequent.

I'm a tough broad, probably too tough for you.

Best wishes nonetheless.

I'm here on the weird edge of the Central time zone: sunrise has been about 7:35-7:40 for a month now, but sunset has retreated from 5:15 to 5:50.

Hey, I'll take whatever sun I can get, especially since we didn't have any for a week and a half, what with the ice storm and all.

Hmmm... From what I've heard, Obama supported Robert Byrd... that would qualify him for a Klan outfit...
