Dusk in the Buffalo Valley
View from where I am with Mount Moranin the background. Cooling off at this magical time of day. Still great sleeping/sweater weather here at night. But the days are scorching hot!
Does this sound like a familiar theme? Republicans ignoring science to carry out a political agenda? Here we go again...
Julie A. MacDonald was appointed by GW Bush and recently resigned as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Fish and Wildlife. The agency’s inspector general found several instances in which Ms. MacDonald browbeat department biologists and habitat specialists and overruled their recommendations to protect a variety of rare and threatened species.
The species that are expected to receive protection are the white-tailed prairie dog, Preble’s meadow jumping mouse, 12 species of Hawaiian picture-wing flies, the arroyo toad, the Southwestern willow flycatcher, the California red-legged frog and the Canada lynx.
The whole IG report is there in a PDF file. She sounds like a real piece of work, but sadly, very typical of the types of appointments made by this administration.
Boy, could I ever go for some cool sleeping/sweater weather right now!!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you're having a wonderful time. I'm so happy!
Good news for us environmentalists.
